As most know staff do not play, while that removes other issues it does mean we also sometimes do not realize there are problems in game.  The next few months as far as my time goes will be focused on addressing those kind of issues.  Not everything is a simple fix, some things are waiting for other code to be completed so we solve them correctly rather than rushed and forced to alter/remove a few months down the road.  This thread isn't for debating anything, it is so I can start listing what you see that needs resolved.

Some things on my list

1.  Bio-Engineering/Crafting/Bonus Set System:
We need a new crafting method, as much I like random and RNG.. I hate 100% RNG which is what the OSI method is based of.  We already have an advanced crafting system over half way done, there are some screenshots on the forum if I recall.  The Bonus Set System uses some of that base code as well, which is just waiting on 1 more piece to be coded before it goes into shard testing.

Once we get this far I have some unique ideas for pets/bios.  We also need this done to allow for crafting of top end gear like armor and such.

2.  Instanced Dungeons/PvP Pits
The first step to these coming into existance is taking the archeology system a few steps further, Domino has done her part for me to initially start coding and from there we will figure out the over all plan. Once this foundation level of code is working and tested it opens the door for larger scale things like dungeons and controlled pvp arenas where the players can setup the dynamics of combat they wish to fight in.

Dante and I have a few other things on our list but for the most part things revolve around these 2 areas.  So if you see some pet traits pop up and wonder what does this have to do with what is listed above, it does in the larger picture and I had that time atm to get that done.  Sometimes I am just waiting for the idea or solution to solve a problem.  "Coding PvP Pits" Sounds easy, tame a moment and write it out to get an idea of how much work needs to be done, look at all the loop holes and possible exploits that need to be taken into consideration.. then maybe you get an idea why some of this stuff isn't a flip of the switch.

So please, if you see something that is broke by all means share it here and I can work on getting that resolved because I do want to take a few months of cleaning up the small things on the shard.

That looks really cool. Although increasing the number of charges on a Runebook is kinda useless right? I've only been playing UO for about 5-6 weeks now so I might be missing something but due the the lack of a skill cap there's no reason every player shouldn't have trained Magery or Chivalry, giving them access to a potentially free (LRC) cast of Recall or Sacred Journey, right?
If it were to increase the max number of locations I could see that being something players would want, serving as a QoL upgrade; reducing item clutter and the need to be super organized with several Runebooks.

In regards to Bios, Perhaps you could use the 'recipe craft system' to improve DNA or the means (tools) used to acquire DNA. This way if players are experiencing bad 'RNG' or they're unable to achieve the exceptional skill values or luck that may be required for better consistency, instead of having to keep attempting the same thing (and rolling the dice, as you implied) they can work on improving their DNA samples in a way that has a more stable, foreseeable trajectory.

Just some thoughts  ;D

Bios

Yes oh yes!!

Love to make them and see what I can get.   Only issues is you cant shrink them and I understand why.  However it also makes them hard to sell.  Something tied to the bio that could be put on a vendor would be great.  Maybe like a claim ticket from the stable that shows some stats about the Bio?
