I've seen a couple different RunUO scripts for this, I've always found them to be a fun addition and way to allow players to expand beyond their plot (pun intended) in life.

I've added this to my own test runuo server in the past and it works pretty smooth, it allows for an exact footprint of the floor above to be created below.  You can even stack these and keep going down and down.  Not sure if this is something the community would want, but it's something to think about for sure :D

I have always desired the lowering of houses(sinkables) & got excited reading about this, until I read the actual page: "YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO LOCK ANYTHING DOWN IN YOUR CELLAR."


Just thought I should underscore the drawback (in my mind). Prob great for some sort of deco addon tho, but unsure until Ive seen one & I quit running my runuo a long time ago.

Actually you CAN lock down in the cellar, that warning line is for making sure you make the necessary change to the housing code to permit lockdowns :)  Trust me, the basements i've had in the past were full of lockdown...design labs, tourture chambers, Arena Pits for fighting, etc.

  I think it would be nice to have a basement or cellar or dungeon so to speak.


  They only question I have is, how will 500+ accounts with 4 basements each affect the shard?

Well Sturger maybe they could make it so its a donation item like you donate 500 ED and the staff will add a basement to the house for you that way it won't be every single player in the game with the basement on top of the other floors.

   Maybe they would, but why promote something as awesome as a basement for those of us who can afford to buy it.


  I'm more of a; "hey this is awesome, lets WORK HARD to obtain this," kind of guy.


  Not hey I want this: (opens wallet).


  To each there own, and for the haters/flames. I can reach in my wallet and manage 500 ED. That's not the point. Evolution is here to evolve... not pay to win... or to have.

I've always been a fan of adding more crafting quests for things like this, something that takes some time but makes sense too:


*  120 Mining -  Gather X number of resources for building the basement
*  120 Lumber - Gather X number of resources for building the basement
*  120 BS - Craft the raw materials to build the basement
*  120 Carp - Craft the raw materials to build the basement
*  120 Tinker - Craft the tools to build the basement
*  120 Carto - Survey the land to know how the basement will fit
*  120 Alch - Craft various potions to prep the land
*  Imbueing - To take all the materials and concentrate them into a singular quest item
*  Inscription - Convert that imbued quest item into functional character-bound scroll that places the basement
